What Comes With a Custom Acrylic Sign

A rundown of the acrylic we use, how your sign is printed, the sizes and mounting hardware on offer, and what every business sign order includes.

Panel Material

  • Crystal-clear acrylic, or plexiglass, gives your lobby or storefront an upscale look that resembles glass
  • It weighs little and won't shatter, so it's a safer option than glass for busy reception areas, shops and offices
  • Through the optically clear panel, your logo and brand colors gain real depth and appear to float in three dimensions
  • Holds up against moisture, UV and sunlight with no warping, fading or yellowing

Printing & Finish

  • Our full-color digital process uses UV-stable inks designed to resist fading
  • A glossy surface that looks like glass lets brand colors stand out and keeps lettering sharp even from far away
  • We print on the reverse side (second-surface printing), so your logo and text are protected from scratches and everyday wear
  • Crisp edges, clean lettering and even areas of color give your branding a professional finish

Cut & Shape Options

  • Rectangles and squares to suit retail walls, offices and lobbies
  • Precise straight cuts and square 90° corners lend it a polished, corporate feel
  • Orient it in landscape or portrait to fit your storefront layout, reception desk or door
  • We cap every side at 40", so your sign can travel without freight transport

Size Range & Layouts

  • Any custom size between 20" × 20" and 40" × 40"
  • Portrait or landscape orientation in square or rectangular formats
  • For lobbies and stores, 20" × 30", 24" × 36" and 30" × 40" are popular choices
  • Get matching panels to brand several locations alike or to build a coordinated wall set

Choosing a Thickness

  • 3/16" (0.1875"): a light, sturdy panel that works for most indoor signs
  • 1/4" (0.25"): a stiffer panel with a weightier, more premium feel
  • For high-traffic areas and bigger wall signs, the thicker acrylic is the stronger choice
  • Whichever you choose, you get the same professional gloss and vivid color

Mounting Hardware

  • Metal standoffs float the sign off retail and office walls for an architectural look
  • Pick 0.5" or 1" standoffs, finished in black or silver to suit the hardware in your space
  • Each sign comes with drilled holes for a secure standoff fit
  • Before checkout, mark where the holes should go in the design tool

Lasting Looks & Upkeep

  • Designed to stay bright for years inside or at a covered outdoor entrance
  • A soft, non-abrasive cloth takes care of daily dusting
  • Mild soap and water handle deeper cleaning; dry the panel afterward to prevent spotting
  • Keep alcohol, ammonia and other harsh cleaners away, as they can cloud the acrylic

Design Tools & File Types

  • Send us your company logo, a brand kit or finished artwork, or begin with an online template
  • Add graphics, business hours, contact information and wayfinding text in our online design tool
  • File formats we can use: EPS, AI, PDF, TIFF, PSD, PNG and JPEG
  • Vector logos (AI, EPS or PDF) print best, as does raster art saved at 300 dpi and the sign's actual size

Production & Shipping Timelines

Please treat every production and delivery time as an estimate: bad weather, slow carriers, file issues and other delays can affect it. We start producing and shipping your sign the business day after the order is placed and approved.

Shipping is limited to the continental U.S., and we can't send orders to PO Box or APO addresses.

Time in Production

  • Standard orders are produced in 2 business days
  • Rush service, if offered for your order, takes 1 business day
  • Production can run longer for larger sizes

Ground Transit

  • Ground shipments take 2–7 days to arrive

Planning a Bulk Order

  • Large quantities can need extra production time
  • Your turnaround is based on the quantity, shape, thickness and size you select
  • Rushing signs for an opening, a rebrand or an event? The earlier you order, the better

Common Questions About the Signs and Materials

What is an acrylic business sign?

It's a plexiglass panel custom printed for logos, reception-area branding, storefront displays or interior wayfinding. The clear, glossy acrylic gives brand colors a rich look and makes the sign appear to float on the wall in a modern way.

Which material are your signs printed on?

Clear acrylic, commonly referred to as plexiglass. It resembles glass while being lighter, less expensive and much more durable, so it won't shatter in a busy workspace the way a sign with a glass face can.

What thickness is right for my sign?

You can pick from two. Most indoor retail and office signs are well served by the 3/16" (0.1875") panel, which is light and sturdy. The 1/4" (0.25") panel is stiffer and has more presence, which makes it a strong option for bigger storefront or lobby signs.

Are acrylic business signs matte or glossy?

Glossy, every time. The artwork goes on the back face of the panel and is seen through the transparent front, giving it the deep, glassy shine people associate with high-end plexiglass signs.

Can I put an acrylic sign outside?

Yes. Because acrylic stands up to moisture, UV and sunlight, it does well at covered outdoor entrances, in storefront alcoves and in humid indoor spaces. Just keep it away from extreme cold and open flame, both of which can gradually warp the panel.

What sizes and shapes do you offer?

Signs come in rectangular or square shapes, in landscape or portrait, at any custom size between 20" × 20" and 40" × 40". We limit each side to 40" to keep shipping straightforward, since bigger pieces would need to travel by freight.

What kind of artwork looks best on an acrylic sign?

Clean type, solid brand colors and logos with strong contrast are the easiest to read through glossy acrylic, and vector files keep the edges crisp at large sizes. A busy photo can serve as a background, but keep your logo and message free of clutter so people can read the sign from the far side of a store or lobby.

Ordering, Mounting and Maintenance FAQs

How should I set up my logo file?

Whenever possible, send a vector logo as an AI, EPS or PDF file. If you only have a raster file, upload the highest resolution available, ideally close to 300 dpi at the sign's actual size. TIFF, JPEG, PSD and PNG files work too. If your file is slightly too small, our design tools can enhance it prior to printing.

Can I send in my own artwork, or design the sign online?

Either works. Upload a logo or layout that's ready for print, or add your hours, text, graphics and effects in our online design tool. To get a lobby, office or retail sign going faster, pick a template from our library and make it your own.

What's involved in mounting an acrylic business sign?

Every sign hangs on metal standoffs that hold it neatly off the wall so it appears to float. Choose 0.5" or 1" hardware in black or silver. The holes are drilled for you so the standoffs fit securely, and you set their positions in the design tool prior to checkout.

Can I get identical signs for multiple locations?

Absolutely. Order each sign on its own with the same artwork, and your branding will look consistent across storefronts, offices or a wall of several panels. Want help sizing a set for different locations? Send us your files and our team can help get them aligned.

How do I keep an acrylic sign clean and in good shape?

Dust it regularly using a soft, non-abrasive cloth. When it needs a deeper clean, use water with a little mild soap, then dry the surface so no water spots are left behind. Abrasive cleaners, ammonia and alcohol can scratch or cloud acrylic, so avoid them.

How many years will an acrylic business sign last?

Look after it and it should stay vibrant for about ten years indoors and around five years outdoors in a covered spot. The tough plexiglass panel and UV-stable inks keep your logo and colors sharp year after year.

Where and how should I store my acrylic sign?

Pick a cool, dry spot away from moisture and direct sunlight. Wrap the sign in bubble wrap, glassine paper or another soft, non-abrasive material and store it lying flat. Acrylic panels should never be piled directly on one another.
